About the Author

Rev. Dr. Robert L. DeVeaux

Rev. Dr. Robert L. DeVeaux is a visionary servant-leader, pastor, author, entrepreneur, and community social worker whose life’s work is to uplift people, transform communities, and expand the reach of the Gospel locally and globally. As Senior Pastor of The Humanity Baptist Church in Newark, NJ, he has devoted himself to nurturing a praying church, strengthening families, empowering the next generation, and guiding God’s people through both triumph and trial.

Rooted in the rich traditions of the Black Church and shaped by years of ministry, service, and scholarship, Dr. DeVeaux’s leadership extends far beyond the pulpit. His work in education and social services, particularly in and throughout Essex County, NJ, reflects his commitment to holistic community transformation—mind, body, and spirit.

A leader with an entrepreneurial mind and a creative spirit, he is also the founder of several ventures including SolarSpark Partners, and the emerging Neurovest platform (AI + finance). Through these initiatives, he builds digital tools, leadership resources, and strategic pathways that empower churches, leaders, entrepreneurs, and everyday people to step into their God-given potential. His expanding catalog of books—spanning prayers, devotionals, sermons, ministry tools, and personal development—flows from that same mission of helping people grow, heal, and rise.

Dr. DeVeaux’s ministry is profoundly global. His preaching, teaching, and leadership development efforts have taken him across five continents and throughout the Caribbean, impacting diverse cultures and communities. In recent years, his most extensive work has been centered in Kigali, Rwanda; Monrovia, Liberia; and Lagos, Nigeria, where he has partnered with churches, trained leaders, supported families, strengthened youth and young adult ministries, and contributed to long-term community transformation efforts. Whether ministering in Newark, Lagos, Kigali, Monrovia, or anywhere God opens a door, he carries the same heart: compassion, clarity, courage, and a commitment to leaving people better than he found them.

Across every platform—preaching, writing, teaching, digital entrepreneurship, global missions, and community service—his vision remains clear:
To lead with faith, serve with integrity, create with purpose, and build a legacy that empowers future generations.

Linking Faith, Freedom, and Practical Theology

His journey as an author began with a passion to make theology practical and justice personal. His first book, From Apathy to Activism: Social Justice in the Black Church, reflects his lifelong commitment to linking faith and freedom. He is currently preparing The Prayers of Humanity, a devotional collection celebrating seventy-five years of prayer, perseverance, and purpose in the life of his church. Whether writing sermons, prayers, or books, Robert L. DeVeaux seeks to help readers and listeners alike believe again, dream again, and live again through the power of faith and hope.
